Goodbye Nashua, hello...

I should preface this with the statement that New Hampshire is a beautiful state. I am well aware that there are reading this relatives of a particular someone who could and probably would send the 82nd Airborne out for my ass, and I'd prefer to stay in his good graces, thanks.

New Hampshire is nice.

However, as I've wandered around the delightful streets of the greater Nashua area (and they are, in fact, delightful), it's made me realize something.

God, do I love D.C.

I mean, I've had a good time and all. The people here are warm and extraordinarily gracious. There are all sorts of random bits of fascinating trivia tucked away for the eager explorer to find. And I've found them, and enjoyed them.

But it's nothing compared to D.C. Somewhere I live and work, and, as I'm beginning to realize, don't get the chance to appreciate enough.

I want to walk through every wing of the Smithsonian right this very second. I want to snap up tickets to everything the Kennedy Center does and doesn't offer. I want to eat my lunch by the Reflecting Pool one day instead of staying in my office. I want to ride the Yellow Line all day one day, just to do it.

I'm rediscovering my home. Or, maybe, I'm discovering that it is my home. Maybe that's the difference.
