Went into work, admitted one patient, charge asked me if I were staying or not as if I chose to stay, she would call off another RN. I left. Went to Employee Health and the nurse-practitioner there, after being reassured that I am not the victim of spousal abuse, wrote me a scrip for pain pills.
Took two when I got home, and rode with DH and Crashie to vet. Crashie would not allow anyone to shave his forehead, and we would not allow them to sedate or anesthetize him for this. If this becomes necessary, we will contact breeders' vet, who works with mastiffs frequently, as mastiffs have a higher-than-ordinary risk of dying with anesthesia. Poor Crashie also had a cortisone shot, an antibiotic shot, an ear swabbing, and a peppermint candy. We have antibiotics, steroids, eardrops, and topical spray for him. Exhausted, he came home, drank just under a gallon of water, and fell asleep in front of the fan.
Ballot arrived today- one county council position (I voted nonRepublican) and one city council position with three candidates. One candidate's statement incoherent and badly punctuated, one candidate set up a website with only his voter's pamphlet statement on it, and managed to find some information online as well. Voted for the guy who drove elderly man home from grocery store and put up his sick neighbor's Christmas lights. He seems to have appropriate priorities.
Received sympathy card from Mom's bank, as sister involved in shutting down accounts.
