I am a baking braggart!
Thursday was our co-op's holiday feast. We were supposed to take food that corresponded to one of the seasonal celebrations. I chose Winter Solstice, since we actually celebrate that one. Bee made sun pizza for me to take (store bought crust topped with garlic white sauce and cheddar cheese- it really does look sort of like a glowing sun and it is goooood too!) and M.E. and I made a Yule log cake (Buche de Noel). The cake should have been thinner and there should have been lots more chocolate mousse rolled in it, but it looked pretty and I put on plenty of frosting so the kids liked it. I posted pics at my blog and I'm posting one here too because I want to show off my daughter's and my ability to make a cake that looks like a pine log! Woodsy and chocolaty!
