I read a lot of kid and YA fiction. I'm not sure I ever stopped reading them once I became an adult. Vintage books are fun reads (I'm a fan of Beany Malone). There's so much YA fiction nowadays you don't have to look hard to find something good.

I also like to re-read the books I loved as a kid. It always surprises me how differently many of those books read now that I'm an adult. Some of them I love just as much, even though take something different from them. Others I'm surprised I ever liked. The two biggest surprises were the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the the Narnia books. I loved them both, but especially Narnia. As an adult, I find Tolkien tedious and Narnia sort of dull (I thought the movie was a snore too). I wish I hadn't tried to read them again.

Are there any childhood favs you read again and were disappointed?
