In honor of Harry Potter's birthday...
Remember how I used to do those sims updates with my Harry Potter sims?
They're back, babies, and they're gonna be crackier than ever. I'm merging the Harry Potter sims that we're all familiar with with a group from a different HP-themed neighborhood I played for awhile. That means shenanigans, since not only are the Marauders - Peter + Lily coming back, many of their contemporaries are, too. This time around, there WILL be all 4 Marauders. There will be Weasleys (so many Weasleys. So many). Sirius' extended family will be here. Even Lucy the House-Elf and Marylena The Bitch will be here! And Snuffles and Minerva! And even Max, that dog I literally forget exists every single time I see him mentioned! And Frances the Zombie!
But what about the sims we fell in love with from the subsequent generations, like bbScorpius? He'll be in the very first post! Harry will, too, and Draco. Fleur? Dean? Parvati? Patience, they'll be here (eventually) too. Madisim? Alice? Luna? Neville? Regulus? Teddy? Lysander, Andromeda, Hannah?
oh yes.
Imagine magic so powerful it can't be used without altering the fabric of time itself. Imagine the violent collision of at least three different timelines. Imagine waking up from the rubble to find classmates you never knew before - including your own sister. Imagine a group of children and teens showing up at the door and saying they're your children from the future.
Imagine you're one of those teens, and several of those children are yours. Three of them are yours with your most bitter and hated rival. You all have to live together - three and potentially more generations of you - and get along, because here's the only place that's safe. And time isn't finished throwing new surprises at you...
So, what's new? Well, I can take much nicer pictures now. Walls and ceilings and shit are all up in this castle, and we're not gonna rely on the crappy quality in-game camera, either. I'm even good at framing and posing and stuff now. I have nicer custom content. I have romance mods - letting sims make their own autonomous decisions about romantic actions (which always leads to shenaniganry of the highest quality. Everyone loves surprise pregnancies!) Also, I exclusively use my own hair retextures, so while styles will stay the same, their textures will look prettier.
Also? I have way more expansion packs now! Now that I have all of them, the Harry Potter sims will be able to do ACTUAL MAGIC. And take vacations! And have hobbies! And beaches! AND SNOW!
And, of course, hacky shenanigans (again) of the utmost quality, since getting college kids to have kids of their own takes some crazy behind-the-scenes screwing around.
What's the same? The sims themselves! I've extracted them and, aside from tiny changes to their makeup, they're exactly the same. I've even copied down their personalities. So does that mean James will prank Sirius, and Sirius will prank him back? Yes! Will Draco be a manwhore again? Yep. He'll even still have his nemesis poster. Will Madi and Neville have their gameboys? Of course they will! Hairstyles and signature outfits (for the most part, things will change with the seasons!) will be the same (this is SUPER important to me).
I plan to present this as a hybrid of fanfic-y storytelling and my usual style of "LOL LOOK AT THIS WEIRD SHIT THESE GUYS DID", since while I do want to tell a story, I also just really, really miss playing it as a game, so I'll want free will on as often as possible. There will be plenty of surprises that I've planned, but there will definitely be surprises even I don't see coming (I foresee my romance mods breaking a few hearts, definitely). I'll play age-ups off as time hiccups.
I'm still extracting sims and retexturing hairstyles, but I'll have at least a little something to post possibly as early as later tonight (so... tomorrow morning, I guess. heh.) After that, I plan to post something about once a week, possibly more, since I have other projects I wanna work on too.
