Interesting fact: Emmy Rossum pitched up by 10.290 percent is Kylie Minogue with Sophie Ellis-Bextor's RP accent. Accordingly, I've been pitching up Emmy Rossum's entire album. I'm on track 4 (but I did a few out of order). It sucks less.
(Why does Emmy Rossum have an RP accent if she's American?)
When I heard Emmy Rossum had made a pop record that tanked spectacularly I was intrigued, because I am shameless and I love bad pop. This... is not pop. This is weird pseudo-opera and every track sounds the same. They're all really good if you listen to them by themselves, but a whole album of her and her own voice in triplicate doing backup (it reminds me of what acapella groups do) is a bit much. She's more tolerable when I can pitch her up, turn the volume down, and pretend she's Kylie.
Also I just downloaded albums by Cilla Black and Mary Hopkin, two Beatles-associated women. Funny how my musical taste is going in circles. Those Beatles just keep pulling me back, and why would I resist?
