Winter retreats. Getting sent up into a state with hardcore snowstorms that make you leave early [before lunch] on Sundays, being locked in a car with one of your best friends [Justin] who keeps you awake the entire ride there and back, getting revenge on your best friend by keeping him up, eating sausage even though you don't like it, playing games where the objective is "to win", finding yourself addicted to hot cocoa, realizing that you're telling people things that you've never dreamed of telling anyone, calling someone you just spent the entire weekend with a few hours after you get home just to hear that they are sleeping [which sounds really good to you], walking on water to an island where you tried to paddle a kayak to during the summer, taking power naps with someone you want to get to know better, being "N.H.", freezing your toes off and discussing what the meaning of "freezing", opening up old wounds from past relationships, having emotional breakdowns downstairs while everyone else is playing "church feud" above you, refusing yourself to catch Trista's sicknessES, driving by your boyfriend's town who lives on the otherside of the state, coming home to angry and stubborn parents, re-feeling Jesus's fire, wishing that your mother understood that your mental problems are real and not just an excuse for everything that you do, going from a place that smells like sweet snow-covered pines to a place where you choke on cigarette smoke, finding yourself listening to certain songs over and over again that you don't normally listen to, going back to your house to look up "love" in first corinthians and finally apply what you learned in sunday school to your life, finally taking your time instead of rushing into things, re-learning the meaning of "relaxed", having to wash all of your clothing because you have mid-terms tomorrow morning, finding out that instead of being able to come home right after mid-terms to take a nice long nap you have to go over your friend's house to study and then go to fencing practice, realizing after typing all of this out that you over analyse things... More stuff, but I'm done for now.... Yes, I definitely love being at Camp Spofford winter retreats [no sarcasm added]. I am content.
Does that describe well enough of how my weekend has been?
