Even though Friday night at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan with my parents and aunt and uncle was pretty dandy, Saturday OWNED THE WEEKEND.
unlike Mary Claire's last visit here, our tomfoolery at kappa sig's classic rock party far exceeded my expectations, or in this case, me and Amber's un-expectations. See, I believe in jinxes so although we were secretly extremely excited for what the night held, we kept telling ourselves how much it was going to suck. well it didnt! so this weekend won top prize in my best weekends at school thus far. Free Entry! Classic Rock! Darts! 21-to-drink bracelets! (illicitly distributed to us by Paul) and us 3 girls! and many many boys! Good-looking too! Put it all together, and magic unfurls. Needless to say, I had a splendid time.
I need to get back to reading Bill Bryson again. I didnt mean to abandon him on the Appalachian trail. Plus its not like i dont have the time. I mean, I have time to read a book! How did this happen? Sometimes I feel guilty not working every night til 4 and then sleeping for 2 hours only to wake up again at 6, continue working til class and repeat this process day after day. This is Fernanda's life. Industrial Design has bared its claws at me from her side of the room and I must admit, I was afraid. I didn't realize just how savagely that area of study can chew on you til your only chance of survival is to play dead until it ends. Does it end? I hear it gets easier in Junior year or maybe people just say that because by then they're used to not having a life outside the wood shop. But what do I know?
I have midterms this week actually, but surprisingly its not so bad. My biggest one is in 2 weeks though, so we'll see how slowly I get myself prepared for it. Tomorrow I have my drawing midterm review and I think I've readied myself well enough. I mean, I probably spend the most time on homework for that class so why shouldn't I get a B+? (since they don't give out A's here--meh.) Today was the LCD midterm review and even though me and LCD are on speaking terms it doesn't mean I'm visiting on the weekends or nuthin'. It was bizarre when Beerman had us grade OURSELVES. with teams and captains and everything! It was like grade-school gym class again but with art and a lot more awkward since we were grading one another. I think I got a B+ maybe?
right now, Im thinking I really want to go home this weekend and eat pasta by the fire and watch good movies. I haven't been HOME home in awhile. Dad wants to watch the bootleg Beatles at Shea Stadium DVD he got me and since its here it gives me a somewhat legit excuse to hit the road. We shall see. Over and out!
