Theres a family reunion in Maryland tomorrow and I got to wake up pretty early to get there, and altough its almost 1:30 I'm having way too much fun watching Battle Royale on tv links to hit the sack. But late nights and early mornings arent a big deal really. Such is my new schedule.
Work is tedious, my weeks are busy, but other than that I suppose I'm sort of enjoying things. Despite the fact that I have only one "real" friend that I actually go out with has ceased to bother me anymore. Oh, I suppose it gets to me every once in a while but I've forced myself to realize that everything will fall into place sooner or later and the less I let it get me down, the faster I'll get used to the situation. Plus, I'm semi-expectant that things will start to change... I mean, they have to.
Last night wasn't half as bad as last Saturday with Mary Claire. Although Pete and his drunken antics ("I bit my sister's head") were the saving grace of that much anticipated visit, the rest of the weekend went from lame to disheartening and then trickled out a depressing little steam towards the end. I have never before seen Mary Claire so irate and on edge and I have never before been such a whiny, down-in-the dumps lush. But last night's casual trip to Chocolate bar with Amber far surpassed any expectations of Thursday night. No one I knew was there freshman-wise but strangely enough Amber and I got drunk enough to have a few laughs and knock on the door of one the randoms who live on my hall. We inquired about whether or not he had Guitar Hero and well... I guess it's not really worth explaining. Nevertheless, it was a nice way to cap off the week with good feelings. So I guess time is bringer of all good things. Although most of my life seems to be a lot of hesitation and waiting around, fate does drop me a line or two and I find myself happily surprised in the most unexpected of situations.
on another note, there are so many cute guys I'm going crazy... especially in English class.
Well, back to reality, hope this family reunion is fun-ish. More blood relatives I have yet to meet, plus good food, plus boats and crab cakes and that sort of thing. I still dont know if I'm ready to be stranded at Pratt for an entire weekend, but like I said, eventually I'll get more situated. eventually, eventually, eventually. The name of my memoirs. ha. Everything is easier when you've got an entourage of some sort, some kind of human support system. I have yet to attain full, mature independence but I'm working on it. I;m trying my darndest,
OH. OH. and Sweeney Todd trailer does not look half-bad. Although Johnny's rendition of "Epiphany" did make me wince a little. As much as I love that man to death, nobody can do psychotic singing barbers like Michael Cerveris. Nobody.
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson is hilarious and wonderful. I love books that make me forget to eat and this is one of them. yay!
Back to watching Japanese teens in prep school uniforms slaughter each one by one on a deserted island. Why didn't I think of this idea????'
Oh Anna, you're gonna be one sorry chica at 7 am this morning. gahhh.
