I'm seeing butterflies flit past my window through the closed blinds. It's an interesting sight. Meanwhile, this meme has been floating about for a while. Commented on iki_teru and am now contractually obligated to continue it!

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing.* ( Read more... )

Requesting because I WILL WRITE AT LEAST 100 WORDS A WEEK, DARNIT. Gimme until... tuesday to repost.

...but alas, I am torn between asking for something about Relena being awesome, or not being completely and utterly predictable and asking for, say, Fruits Basket: Kyo trying to buy or bake something nice for Tohru for Valentine's (or was it White Day?), with hilarously dorky results. Is either of those doable?

She and her parents are keeping a calender together, a countdown of years before she turns sixteen. They are entirely different calenders: her parents see that day as a beginning, a time for their guardianship to pass and for Toph to be given to a new guardian, a young man hand-chosen by the Bei Fong Family to properly care for its heir.

Toph sees it as an ending, an ending of this time in which she can, at least, smuggle away some freedom in the nights at he earthrumble championship, in the nights wearing rough cotton and bleeding honestly. When she turns sixteen, she will be arranged to be wed, and she will be expected to spend her life with an older man she doesn't know, someone gentle enough to nurture her. Someone who might not even require for her to bear children, in her delicate state.

It makes her sick. Literally sick, when she thinks of those birthdays to come. When her mother tells her she's growing up beautiful. When her father tells her that her bending lessons will be completed when she is fourteen, to make room for ( ... )

Either of those is certainly doable! You may get both if I don't get precisely ten people. Which would you like more?

Relena. If you need a more specific prompt than "awesome Relena being awesome", do let me know. ^^;

One of the unpleasant aspects of being vice foreign minister between the earth sphere and the colonies is the jet lag. Sometimes, in the postbellum fallout, Relena feels that she exists in a pocket between time zones, neither here nor there. Her diplomatic work is needed, crucial, and there are so many colonies to visit and so many speeches to make ( ... )

Oh my goodness. How did you know? It's like you plucked all the ingredients for the perfect fic right out of my head. Relena's passion for her work and the loneliness and detachment it brings her, and her grief, and *flails* They remembered her birthday! *flailyflail* They came to celebrate and keep her company! *FLAIL*

Thank you so much! *glomps*
