Looking at Hunger Games fanart has led me to realize that I love, love, love it when a book either hasn't had a movie made of it or hasn't had one made yet, because the art/visual fandom is that much richer for it. I love seeing the interpretations of the characters by individual artists and the way the scenes looked like in their heads. Once the movie comes out, all the art is tweaked, the characters start being drawn to look more like the actors, the scenes are influenced by the movie presentation. I saw it happen with Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, and that was sad, because both of those lent themselves to some great creative possibilities.
