just an idle thought

If you could send a message out in space, with the guarantee of it reaching someone out there, what would it be? What would it say?

i don't know what crack i'm smoking, aliens, musings, whimsical

I wouldn't know what to send, honestly. Probably something along the lines of 'If you find us, remember that the strongest don't necessarily dictate what we all mean."

That or 'Please don't destroy us."

LOL, no idea.

*lol* 'Please don't destroy us' is always an excellent piece of advice to give.

I've been wondering about it ever since I saw the little clip of the thing they sent in space with people all talking and saying 'hello'. If aliens find it, it's not like they'll understand the language or anything. It would be funny if they decided it meant we were coming in for a hostile takeover.

Hahah, yea. They get it and listen to it and just think;

"Crap this thing goes on for HOURS! We are so boned!"

But in their...yanno..alien language.

I'd love to hear aliens speaking slang like: "We are so boned!" I wish the first alien encounter is with a nonhostile, technologically advanced race so that: A) we won't be destroyed, and B) we won't have the chance to try and colonize them.

I'd love it too. I'd like to hope like you, that being technologically advanced means they're more peaceful, and not looking at it as a way to not attack us with a sure fire win.

I could see classes for learning Alien Language popping up in colleges and people integrating it into their everyday language like on Firefly with the Chinese!
