Here's a question. WHY DO I ONLY SHIP PAIRINGS THAT ARE GOING TO BREAK MY DAMN HEART?

Honestly! In almost every fandom I edge into, if I bother to follow a couple, it is always a doomed pair. Either it's obvious that their relationship isn't made to last, it's unrequited, it's doomed to end with one of them dying, or it's clear that the canon intends to pair one up with someone else! I ship noncanon about 90% of the time, and it's usually the noncanon couple that gets enough screen time and chemistry together to make them truly shippable. And I don't even ship that much! I ship very rarely! I'm a diet shipper! Very few shows cause this phenomenon called shipping, but when they do...it's always something horribly doomed!

Examples! Avatar: Zuko/Katara. Glee: Rachel/Jesse. Kim Possible: Shego/Kim. Naruto: Sakura/Sai. Legend of the Seeker: Cara/Kahlan. Doctor Who: Amy/Doctor.

See that? Isn't that depressing? And yeah, while I do ship Amy/Doctor, I don't think it will happen. I'm almost entirely positive that it won't happen. Because when this guy gets love interests, they kill them off, wipe their memories, or lock them on another planet! And she's engaged, and I think the show's going to build up the relationship with Rory, and can I please mention how much I hate Awesome Girl/Scruffy Loser pairing? Hate. Ahem.
