home again, home again, jiggety jig
Well, I'm back from Belgium and getting over my jet lag. I think my brain will be half-dead all day. Fortunately, (or not?) I managed to fall asleep at around eight, and STAY in that comatose state until around five in the morning. And then I slept some more until it became eight in the morning. HA. TAKE THAT, JET LAG. I might just beat this thing in record time! (One day instead of three days, which is what it usually takes for me to get rid of weird sleeping habits.) I still feel in intense need of caffeine, though.
My room seems to be intact, Veckler the beta fish is still among the living, and the weather is great. Awesome. I'm still tackling the 'back from vacation' weirdness, where my daily schedule and normal life doesn't feel quite right, due to two weeks of an entirely different schedule and surroundings. I also feel like I do directly after getting back from Puerto Rico, where everything is in Spanish and everyone speaks Spanish, and getting back to the states, where generally everyone speaks English. Only, this time, the language I half expected to hear from the people in the airport was French or Dutch.
The baby has gotten so big while I was gone! He's not allowed to grow when I'm not here! He needs to stay in one baby static state until I arrive, and only THEN can he learn how to climb up stairs and high-five people!
