Uhm, Just stopping by to let you know I've started a new book that I think you will ADORE.
Nothing but female characters as the MAIN characters, males are all mostly minor.
It's called Ravens of Avalon, takes place during a time when Britain was called Brittania and was on the verge of losing the war to the Romans invasion.
It talks about a once trained warrior-esque woman and her love-friend a Druid Priestess, they take on the Roman empire that tries to invade Britain.
-link edited for spoilers >_< DAMMIT..and I read it!-- Also, this seems to be a book of a series, but the beginning gives you a list of characters, and excellently describes each character so you don't feel like you're coming into a series.
It says magical powers, but it really..isn't the kind you think of. Druid type oracles and small flights of spirits and whatnot are really what you see and read. There isn't a lot of in your face unrealistic powers.
It's wonderfully written so far, and I really think you'll enjoy it.
