Reading shit like this can make me want to hole myself up in my room with nothing but angry women singing angry songs over and over.

They fucking sold out these women so they could achieve power in office. These women's rights were sacrificed because some bastards decided they were expendable. I don't what makes me angrier, the fat that this law has passed or the fact that some women over there have feebly claimed it's 'better' somehow because the age of marriage went up from nine to sixteen. Now these women have their rights to leave the home restricted, lost rights to their own bodies and their own children, and all under the illusion of a government that is meant to care for the rights of its people. I know the comments point out that rape and sexual abuse happen to women in the Western world as well, and it's true. But to have a law that dictates that women surrender all will once married to a man is obscene, degrading, and repulsive. This terrifies me on the behalf of not only the women in Aghanistan and the Middle East, but all women. It terrifies and enrages me that I live in a world where these acts are still being committed against my sex.
