another turning point

So, a little girl at the daycare came in crying today. Eventually she ended up sobbing, screamy, having hysterics, and being generally inconsolable. I tried everything; talking with her, making sure she got the snack she wanted, hugging her, sitting with her, and even giving her a candy. She was still miserable. Finally, after three straight hours of crying, I got her to calm down. She said that she felt like nobody wanted to play with her and nobody liked her and the other teacher didn't want to play with her. She only wanted to play with Will and Daunte, she said. (Those are the other teacher's favorite kids and she is BLATANT about favoritism.) I called the other teacher over to go cuddle her and eventually she cheered up.

Later, I learned that her mother was hospitalized yesterday because of severe depression and panic attacks. This is the mother just yesterday I was planning on reporting to child services due to the emotional instability of her children, and the fact that they admit their mother doesn't bathe them. That mother comes in looking either robotic or annoyed and ignores everything her children say. I hope the treatment helps.

Meanwhile, fandomsecrets, you ROCK for having a Zutara comment. Commenters, you suck for validating the secret poster's statement 'no one respects Zutara anymore' by automatically insulting the ship, the shippers, and acting like she was flaming Kataang simply by virtue of posting a pro-Zutara picture. She posted a Zutara picture because she loves Zutara and feels automatically bashed for liking the ship. Trashing the secret because of the wild and crazy side of the ship is Not Cool. It would be Not Cool no matter which ship someone posted for.

Also, ANOTHER fandom feminist secret rears its head, and it's just as stupid as the last. AND it does the anti-slash, anti-guy thing I really hate as a criticism. News flash! Feminists are not required to write femmeslash. Really. They're not. If they like writing about boys, maybe it's because they think boys are hot. Maybe it's because they just prefer writing male characters. Maybe they like the guys in their fandom more. They do NOT need to write more yuri to justify their feminist leanings. (And really, let's generalize! Fandom feminists write about the boys! Fandom feminists ruin feminism for people! Fandom feminists suck the blood of goats! WHO THE FUCK ARE THESE FANDOM FEMINISTS? I want one as a conversation piece for my coffee table!)
