Oh, Penny and Aggie. You continue to amaze me. Why do you even call this comic 'Penny and Aggie,' TC? It's blatantly apparent that the entire show revolves around Penny and her issues and her friend's issues, and if none of the characters are related to those problems, they disappear for months on end. (See Duane, who vanished once Penny dumped him and then reappared months later to change his religious views for love of Penny.) So now, Penny gets to entirely disrespect her friend's space by barging into her house, following her when she tries to leave a conflict and graing her arm, screaming at her in public, and what? Somehow this is deemed okay behavior because not only does her anorexic friend get help, but the guy who has pretty much hated her since Day 1? The guy who helped the main female archvillain with her plans to topple Penny from the Party Queen throne? Yeah, this guy has decided she is cool, now.
OH MY GOD. I HATE THIS. HATE. It's so fucking contrived. You see this a lot in Harry Potter. The idiot logic that someone who dislikes or disagrees with the main character is inherently wrong and can't truly be on their side (the side of good) unless they are finally robbed of their delusions and shown the light. We don't get to see two sides equally right and wrong in their own ways, we see the One Way. Obnoxious! Even Aggie, the comic's main character, foil to Penny, and person who has loathed Penny forever, is shown to have a change in heart. We can't have her grudgingly work with Penny. We can't have her turn Penny down flat. No, the only true path for Aggie's redemption (because she needs it for picking on saint Penny,) is to join forces with her.
Can I just say now that Penny stepped right into Aggie's morality when she decided they had to take Karen down 'for the greater good?' And very few people called her on that. The Penny apologists ran over the one person who decided that was faulty reasoning. She didn't say: 'let's go against Karen for what she did to Sara,' which would at least be honest, she said 'Karen is an awful bitch who will one day ruin millions of lives.' Also 'we gave her the power and we are therefore responsible,' making sure to shove guilt on Aggie's head to make it clear that if she turned down this offer, she was being irresponsible. NEWSFLASH. You guys gave her a makeover. You are not responsible for how Karen uses her makeover. Aggie especially is not responsible because she never told Karen how to act aside from 'be true to yourself'. All she said was pleather looks nice and to wear dark clothing. DIAF, Penny.
Seriously, can we have Penny go die now before Karen realizes what a wonderful person she is? Can we?
At least have Katy Ann not be BFF with her anymore by her own choice, even though Penny wants her back. Please let there be permanent consequences.
...I doubt it, though
