LOVED that, coz yes - I think that's probably where he is right now. Charlie's opinion means the most and while he didn't ask for the responsibility of looking out for his brother's family it's not something he'd walk away from (now) unless it was Charlie who told him he wasn't needed.
Yeah, that's exactly how I see it. I thought I'd start when they woke up, but Miles needed time to brood and set up the situation and dynamics.
because of too many reasons like wit and laughter? Specifically, Miles dissing swords and fairies when he's all SWORDSMASTER all the time. LoveLoveLoved Charlie being overly stamped after a 5 min meeting and Danny's freakout. And also the general ignore Danny, he's unimportant to the situation rule everyone's following XD
So glad you liked those lines, I had a lot of fun writing them! I swear half of this fic was basically certain lines I wanted to write, and then sort of writing around them- like 'connect the dots'.
I needed Miles to diss swords, because of what you said, but also I needed to tie in to him referencing The Princess Bride (cause I wanted to end with Aaron getting a chance to diss him back).
Monroe was really impressed with Charlie when she stood up to him and she's a Matheson and a mini-Miles, but with Ben and Rachel thrown in there as well. Of course he'd become obsessed with her, LOL.
It's funny writing for 5-6 characters and needing to find something for everyone. Aaron and Nora got writing on them, but I couldn't come up with anything for Danny. Danny's so unimportant, that became his thing, LOL.
BECAUSE AARON. WE'RE GUYS AND THEY'RE ~GIRLS~...(raises eyebrow) EXACTLY WHICH ONE OF THEM WERE YOU HOPING TO SEE TOPLESS? MY EX-GIRLFRIEND? MY SISTER-IN-LAW? ... MY NEICE?
lol - at least that's how it played in my head.
THAT'S HOW IT PLAYED OUT IN MY HEAD! I literally laughed a bit while coming up with the Miles-Aaron snarkfests. Ever since someone mentioned the Stu & Frannie/ Stephen King thing, I knew I had to get it in there somehow. Originally it was meant for a different crack fic that will never be written, so it ended up here.
