OK, fuck fucking new years, aka that last entry. except i still have something different to say, and that is this: I do not think 2004 was anything special. Nor do I think 2003 was special, or 2002, or 2001, or 1867, or 1943, or 1989. This is not the start of a new "era". 2004 did not change me. Sure, I'm physically older and I have a lot more expieriences, but does that mean that I am more mature, or wiser, or happier or sadder? I think it does not. There are two nine-ish year old girls playing outside my back window. One is wearing a pink long sleeved shirt with orange flared sleeves. Her friend is wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. They are holding a stick and a yellow shovel, respectively, stabbing into the hard winter ground (although its really not that hard, fucking global warming its the warmest new years I can remember). Are they older? Are they more mature? Wiser? Happier? I really dont think so. My parents both turned fifty last year. Thats half a century. But with each passing year, do they reflect back and think that everything is different? NO!

See, its not that I think everyone is saying that because its 2005 that we are all suddenly different because we can look back even further. But I also dont think that we change a little bit every year.

I think that these are things we only truly understand and grasp in the seconds before we die....
