I have discovered that the indoor slow drying method is far superior to the sun-dried by hanging method when it comes to St. John's wort.
The lovely massive St. Johnswort harvest did very well - indoors. I did hang a bunch outdoors, and didn't like the difference. The outdoor dried was much less colorful and did not have the 'green' smell when stripped. I discarded it to the compost pile and stuck with the stuff I dried indoors.
