I've been looking at how to reduce my consumption and waste of water. Personally I believe the next World War will be fought over water. I don't agree with a lot of the things Starhawk does but I agree that Water is what is going to matter to us in the long run. I do most of these too. Luckily, my 2nd rain barrel is at the shed (I moved it last Fall) which has a corrugated plastic roof so I can use the water in the garden. I need to raise it up on some more cinder blocks, it is a wee bit down hill from the garden and I would like to run a hose instead of carrying watering can after watering can. I mulched most of my raised beds with newspaper covered with straw. Cuts down on watering plus keeps ground spore from splashing on my leaves causing fungus, I have a real problem with fungus on my maters, cukes, squash, etc. This winter, I want to over seed with rye, I never have and want to try it

I like frozen better than canned. All the salt in canning just spoils it for me. I tried to buy organic frozen in season.
