"I'm still here" or "Hurray for boobies!"
It's coming up, just about a month from now: my 10th annual "I'm Still Here" Day, marking 10 years (without recurrence) since my breast-cancer diagnosis.
I've been trying to figure out how to observe it, if at all. I'm in much the same quandary as I was about my milestone birthday last year, the sad result of which was doing nothing on the actual day.
The only thing I can think of for this occasion is to invite people to join me and R for dinner someplace. I was thinking about Konami on Friday, September 14 (an enjoyable, moderately priced Japanese restaurant in Tysons Corner, Va.). BTW, the photos on the home page don't do justice to the interior; it has a nice ambience, especially in the evening, and it can accommodate even a large-ish group. Reviews at Falls Church News-Press, Washington CityPaper, and AOL CityGuide.
