Time travel seems to really be one of the more appealing options here.
After reflecting on
takarosa's reply to my post and speaking with
kantrip I have remembered something that I have noticed again and again, being out of phase.
Let's say for a moment that we all start out at the same place. We all have the same lessons to learn, the same hardships to face, the same obstacles to overcome, the same experiences all around, from our individually unique perspectives. Now, if we all started at precisely the same time, it would be an assembly line. We would all be experiencing the same thing at the same time. In order to prevent this, we seem to have been staggered.
The result being, not coming to the realisations when they would be of benefit, but instead after the time for them has expired.
Apology
For anyone who may stumble on this and recognize me...
For anyone to whom this may apply...
For anyone...
Throughout the course of life, we are all placed in situations that require decisions. For those who thing that not making a decision is some "Get out of Jail Free Card," I am here to tell you that even the lack of making a decision is still a decision.
In the course of my life, I know first hand that I have caused pain in my fellow denizens. For those of you who were/are dear to me, I can assure you this was not an intentional act. I have my fair, and a few other people's, share of stupid moments with a few bright glimmers of redeeming one sprinkled through all too rarely.
Hindsight really is 20/20. I hope it is just until you catch up to the learning curve. Then instead of seeing where you went wrong, what you lost or took for granted, you can rest blissfully in knowing where you've gone right and curl up contentedly in the arms of your love and have an ecstatic time of it all.
*formal bow* Moushiwake arimasen deshita.
I know that no amount of apologizing for tearing at the hearts and souls of people will ever strike the events leading up to and causing it all from happening. As we have been taught in temple, there was a phrase called "eating all the blame" that was used by one of my favorite teachers. I know I am far from the perfect Buddhist and that some times I have the distinct notion that while I see brilliance in it sometimes it was a stepping stone and not a path to follow gung ho die hard forever, but this is one of those moments of humble brilliance I am trying to foster right now. This bit of brilliance will hopefully be followed immediately by letting go.
Ending on a little of William Shakespeare's wisdom from A Midsummer Night's Dream
PUCK
If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
