Wow, I haven't had much time to breathe in months. I don't quite know what to do with myself. :-)
My friends
thewhitelily and her husband are here from Australia for a few weeks. By "here" I mean the U.S. They are "here with me" for the weekend. Lily is my first HP author. I first met her in 2002 when she was working on The Promise Ring which can be found on the
Sugar Quill. She and
hwimsey will always have the best places in my memories as they are the authors of my first and last novel length fanfics. Anyway...
Lily and her husband, D., got here on Friday evening. I showed them around BC (such an exciting place ) and then we had dinner at a bistro downtown. We went to see the new Indiana Jones movie afterwards. (Pic of her & I along with one of my complex's "backyard"
here) Saturday was a busy day. We first went to the Famer's Market (and by that I mean a building labled "Farmer's Market" with folding tables set up in it) and then up to Grand Rapids to meet up with another one of Lily's friends. We met her, R., in a park and she proceeded to lead us on a high energy, long walk/trot through the woods where she educated all of us on the different types of foilage. My legs were burning afterwards and I swear I am still feeling the burn. I'm horribly out of shape. We were with R. for a couple of hours at the most and then headed up to Jeff's as we were over halfway there. Jeff took us over to Grand Haven so Lily and D. could see Lake Michigan. He was literally tickled pink at the idea of buying Lily and D. corndogs. Not something I would have given them, but definitely American. They weren't acutally too scary and Lily and D. were excellent sports about it. We went bowling together afterwards and then to dinner at Applebee's. Jeff went camping with some of his friends last night and Lily, D. and I got back here about 8:00 and watched Pirate of the Carribean. I also got a new auidence to tell about
zebadiahlento 's brother being one of the pirate extras. ;-) We have been lounging around today as Lily and D. are off to Niagra and NYC tomorrow. We went to church this morning (they're first Catholic experience) and I fed them Hot Pockets for lunch. :-)
I'm refusing to do school work today so I don't quite know what to do with myself. So I decided to visit Blogthings.com and do some more mindless memes. ;-)
