So, I ran barefoot around my indoor track tonight with my hot pink toenail polish. And it felt really good - my ankles (which have been hurting recently) didn't hurt at all and my knees were completely fine. I also felt really light on my feet and my strides were really easy,
And I would have kept running except for the fact that my feet started to BURN. I HATE friction burn! So, I either need to improve my form to cut down on friction or build up a callous on my dainty feet or just wait until I come home and see if vibram five fingers don't feel awful! I think the last might be what happens.
I actually put my shoes on after I ran barefoot and tried to finish up my run. Aside from my feet still burning, it felt really AWKWARD to have to put my heel down first and then roll to my toe. It felt like I was wasting a lot of energy too. My ankles immediately started hurting also.
So it lasted about 8 minutes and now I'm hobbling and have blisters on the sides of my feet where I didn't have callouses before, lol. I didn't realize it would hurt that much! I'd run in grass but I'm never sure what's IN the grass!
