It's not necessarily supposed to hurt, but then again, it's not necessarily supposed to not hurt.
It's all about how you view it.
To me, Brendon is a grounding force to Ryan, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't get caught up in Ryan's 'grand visions'.

I like that different people are getting a different feel for this story.
I'm never going to tell people what to think, but I don't think it's all that sad either. To me, yeah, it's pretty hopeful, if not a little misguided.
