Upon our dear Qi's request for us to experience Dragonboat, her love, as part of her birthday celebrations, we had to oblige. So on a crazy hot Saturday afternoon, 6 of us made our way down to the Kallang River. It was too obvious that we weren't seasoned DBoaters (not even amateurs), for one, we were all dressed like we were going to the beach, and we were giggling non stop. It was quite funny being lost on things such as how to wear the life jacket properly, how to board the boat, and most importantly, how to paddle. With proper guidance from the experienced Qi, we actually managed to do a mean 50 counts of coordinated paddling. While other boats had muscle bulging men in numbers ranging from 12 to 18, our boat only had 6 girls donned in attire with hues of pinks, white and light blues. The speed? Extreme right lane on PIE (them) and cycling in East Coast Park (us). But it was good fun, esp when we were so determined to get some shade under the Sheares Bridge.
Qi, the bday girl!
