Post 3-hour phone call thoughts

Mar 17, 2009 12:11

Last night, JH, my ex-bf (who is really my best friend now) sent me a very random sms - “Eh, gracie, you know what, I think XX is very suitable for you leh!”. This XX is my secondary school classmate whom I had a major crush on - when I was 13. (Gosh!! That’s like more than a decade ago). Obviously, I don’t have a thing for him anymore - that crush did not even last beyond my 14th birthday. And plus, he was my good friend’s ex, so ya, that’s that. Anyway, JH and I ended up chatting over the phone for three hours.

It is funny how “nostalgic” chatting over the phone feels. It seems so long since I last chatted with someone for an extended duration. (I actually got ticked off by my dad who was so peeved by it). With the advent and convenience of web 2.0 tools, connecting with your friends just takes a click of the mouse. I guess sometimes, time really doesn’t permit for us to meet up with or to even call your friends so often. So, we take full advantage of the ubiquity of the internet and technology to drop little messages and notes to say that “we still care”. However, I have constantly reminded myself not to fall prey into this addictive online behaviour. Besides, nothing beats the personalised contact, so regardless of how little time I have, I will still try to save some for my friends.

Hello friends, let’s meet up soon k? I am in for KTV, MJ, Sun-tanning, Exercising, Movies, Shopping, Clubbing, Chilling, Anything. Just drop me a msg, *gasps* online la.
