What an uneventful day

Everyone in office is always not around these days. With the flu bug going around, my colleagues seemed to be falling sick, one after another, for a prolonged period of time. So, usually, I am left in office with 2-3 "survivors". I was soo determined to do something yesterday that I went to take half-day leave. I had no agenda or plans in mind, everything was planned by "playing by ear".

Since Ad is uber free, and enjoying his moments @ home, he came down to pick me up and we headed down to PS for what was thought to be an award-winning movie, The Assassination of Jesse James. (Yes, the flick with Brad Pitt, but he looked nothing like the lad with winsome smile and hot bod - whom all female species gush over - in this show). Pardon me, Academy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, or any films honouring committees, I cannot understand this movie. I could have, if the actors' southern accent weren't that strong, if the movie was very much less draggy, if I didn't fall asleep (say 30minutes after the opening credits) and if the couple behind me weren't whispering LOUDLY.

Minus the couple behind me, which can be classified as environmental noise, the movie is extremely boring. I was so looking forward to some action, like u know, reallie how the plan to kill Jesse James was plotted and executed (e.g., Munich). The actual "assasination" part took all of 3minutes, 90 minutes into the show. Yes, I know, movies build up to a climax, but this was a yawn at best. Now i truly comprehend the meaning of judging a show by its title.

And the worst part was, the theatre was freaking cold, Ad and I was huddling under my blazer, which by the way was nothing romantic and was in fact very uncomfortable. Our popcorn was 1/2 eaten, and our drink 1/4 consumed. So we wasted another say 5bucks on food.

URgh...

love, movies
