Full Nelson? No, no.. Half Nelson

I just saw Half Nelson recently. Good movie. It was interesting to me more on a "I need to shape up, he reminds me of me in the future on my current course."... well, replace drug use with something else equally as addicting and destructive. Though they chose great music for some of the more gritty parts and the premise was certainly a unique one. ( Read more... )

I've never heard of that movie, but I get the same wake-up call thing from 'Serenity', kind of in an opposite way though... I just look at River and think it would be so very cool to be able to move like that, and I really should get myself into shape and into some martial arts lessons. But then I open the fridge and see Maple Cream Pie and then dvds call and... yeah, I sit on my ass for yet another night. 'Aspire' is, although in a similar vein, also quite different to the 'Oh man, if I'm not careful I'll end up like that' thing - 'Aspire' is a bit harder to work with, whereas good old fear is a great motivator (for a while, anyway...)

Well I'm a very stubborn person. I'll stick to the way I've been doing something until my metaphorical house has burned to the ground, and I'm holding into the last few intact pieces of the couch until I'll finally change. So when I get a wake up call from something not involving my world burning down around me I take it!

And truly, aspiring for something certainly is different. I watch Pride and Prejudice and think, "Man, what I would give to be like Mr. Darcy! You know, maybe I'll work on it.." and that's usually where that turns into daydreaming, but never doing. Sometimes I wonder if I actually enjoy thinking about doing something more than actually doing it!

Ha! Tell me about it. I was just giggling/ogling over Supernatural (the shapechanger episode - y'know, the "omg Dean is taking off his shirt, OMG Dean is taking off his SKIN!" one) and my aunt came in and snorted at me - saying something like, go and get a boyfriend who isn't made out of pixels. Meh. It's all too much hard work. Which is a totally lame attitude, but I'm totally lame, so it all just fits together.

(I'm not implying you are lame too. Even though it sounds like that. I banged my head on the car door this afternoon and I'm not feeling quite right - I can feel my brain cells fighting vainly for life and melting away. It's painful)

It really is too much hard work, I'll tell ya. And no hard feelings, because as you may not have been implying that I'm lame, a certainy tend to be!

Speaking of car doors, I was getting in my car the other day. And as I was bending down to get into the car the door auto-closed slightly while I wasn't looking and BAM, jaw to door to biting my lip action all in one fell swoop. I didn't even know what happened for a bit, I was just kind of dazed.

oh, that's nasty. Are you ok now? You didn't bite your lip off or anything!(?)
I often shut the door on my hair, not noticing, then lean over to grab a tape and riiiiip out comes a few clumps, ouch! Man, we are the Clutz Twins.

My tongue was fine. At first I didn't even realize I bit it. Then there was blood.. not much, though. But, getting hair stuck in a car door sounds way more painful. Either way, we both gotta figure out where all the bad luck is coming from!

But you dream *about* him, whereas I dream of *being* him. Close enough I guess, though.
