So I had my first day of classes today.
My schedule goes as follows:
Audio Production - 9am - 11:20am
Intro to Logic - 1pm - 2:20pm
Voice and Diction - 10am - 11:20am (Monday Tuesday, why couldn't you have been on Tuesday Thursday like the others?)
Audio Production is a pretty sweet class. I think this could actually be the class that sets me straight and decides whether voice acting is the career for me. We're going to cover everything from using mics, audio boards, panels, etc, to the software programs to edit them. We get to do our own radio programs for class projects and voice overs and commercials and stuff. So this class both further instructs me in what I've already started, it also gives me stuff to submit as demos! Woohoo! So if this class goes well then I get to do Audio Engineering next semester to really get down and dirty with the equipment.
Intro to Logic. Taught by the infamous Vlad, who we have lovingly nicknamed "The Impaler"... it just makes the class that much more interesting. Finally, a class that I feel can actually stimulate my mind. Other class like geology and stuff I get soooo bored in, but this class is all about logical thinking and the human mind. Basically, everything I'm already interested in and relativey natural at! I feel like productive class discussions are going to happen, rather than when you go to an Ethics class and there are right-wing/left-wing extremists who won't listen and won't budge on stupid issues. As an opening project, I get to do a biography on a logician! And I got Augustus De Morgan. I was really hoping for Aristotle or Plato, but doing someone not so well known is also fun!
Voice and Diction is a class I meant to take last year. But they moved the class and seemingly no one could tell me where it was moved to. So I got dropped. Well now I get to take it, and its going to work perfectly with Audio Production. I get to learn how to speak better (and more varied) and then record it on a class project.
Unfortunately, the books for each class are over $100 each. Bah.
Oh, and, um, this song is great! You all should get it.
