You know when you roleplay and it's so obvious how much a person wants to be the character... or rather be WITH the character their muse is with in canon. FOR EXAMPLE... in the fandom of Supernatural somebody might pick up one of Dean's lovers (Lisa for example) just to play the pairing with a Dean. I don't have anything against pairings, I have

I have to say, bucking the trend here, that I love pairings. RP is what got me into certain pairings and not the other way round. Hell, I discovered a fondness for slash through RP years ago. While I don't go for utterly gratuitous pairing-vulture behaviour, there's something very satisfying about a well-plotted romantic relationship.

Having said all that, there is no point having a pairing when there's no plot and no forward momentum in a game. Plot uber alles, man.

Oh no, I agree completely, but it's the pairing vulture behavior I'm talking about. I love pairings too, but if there is a good plot mixed in and some build up, I realize not every character waits for the build up, but I think you know what I mean, some muns play their muses ooc just for the sake of a pairing.
