goosebumps. in the book of revelation, it is prophesied that the u.n. (the scarlet colored wild beast) will turn on the worlds religions(the harlot) who is drunk with the blood of the holy ones. and there it is. beginning. watching the pages come to life.
its not that "religion" has done wrong things. it is that "false religion" has done wrong things.
Sorry, but every religion out of the middle east is full of calls to violence and bloodshed. Obviously, not every religious person chooses to follow those imperatives but saying they're not there isn't true. If one chooses to ignore the Koran and Bible's direction to kill unbelievers then they're doing it based on human morality, not on theological morality.
How does a beast have anything to do with the UN? Revelations and every other religious text has been cited as predicting any number of things. As for a scarlet-colored beast wild beast, given the time period in which that text was written I'd think it much more likely that it refers to Rome, the principal source of persecution for early Christians. Especially considering the UN's official color is blue.
they are there, absolutely, religious calls to violence. i dont think i said they were not. religion is behind and has backed virtually every war that has ever occurred on this earth. the middle east is the perfect example, beyond that, world war, the crusades and on and on throughout all recorded history. there, you can see, false religion is guilty of murder of millions of people, including followers of the true god, and thus drunk with the blood of holy ones. thus, the false religions of the world have "fornicated" with the harlot.
the bible does not direct us to kill non-believers.
the meaning of the visions in revelation are complex and go much deeper than the color of the beast. the book of revelation is symbolic, for our time, and some of it is specific to john's time.
> the bible does not direct us to kill non-believers.
13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;13:8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:13:9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
It's Deuteronomy and that is the exact scripture. And there are several more like it. And when Fred Phelps says "God Hates Fags" he's correct, at least as far as that "god" is concerned

hey marquies, i am about to fall over tired i JUST got home, i will explain that scripture tomorrow evening. however, it is not meant for us today. the religions of the world and put thier faith in the u.n. as a means to bring "peace and security" to the earth at its inception. it is a false "expression" of god's kingdom. the pope affirmed that the un was man's last and best hope for peace. they have insisted if man fails to find peace through the un, it will destroy itself. this is not the teaching of the bible

I could find any number of people who would recite your last paragraph verbatim except that they found allah, rev. moon, krishna, whatever.
Quoting bible versus, what religious folk never seem to get is that I could care less what's written in there and I have read most of it, by the way. I care as much about Jesus hating my sex life as you do that Allah hates that you won't accept Mohammed as his one true prophet.
I fear no demons, Ruben. I fear no ghosts or phantoms nor anything else brought to life in the ramblings of a bronze age tribe. What I fear is righteous humans who think they have god on their side. I fear them because, to paraphrase, I know them by their fruits. Ask Matthew Shepherd. Ask Daniel Perl.
So long as the requirement for joining a group is that one accept arbitrary and unfair judgements on others, well, I'd rather not join that group. And, if there were a god so deranged as to punish its own creations for such petty offenses, well, I'd rather burn in any hell that bow to such a cruel diety as that.
i understand how you see it.. i do.. those are the same things i had issues with actually. iv been able to see past my own thinking, thankfully, and realise that all of these rules are a protection for me. dont fornicate. could have saved me alot of pain. dont do drugs. same thing. all of these rules have extremely awesome benefits behind them. and im happy to submit to a god that is much wiser than i. i dont mean to debate with you. i thought maybe you were asking because you really wanted to know. theres no point in arguing. just find happiness man, i hope for you and be true to the deepest of the core in you, past attitudes and ideas that purposefully make this life severely difficult.
hey marq. long time no talk. anyhow i did a little research awhile back and found that the scripture you quoted, it is part of the mosaic law. we are not under that law today according to the bible. the bible does not contain calls to war for us today. on the contrary it commands us to "love your neighbor as yourself"-john 10:27

marquis, you should know, i have, and do, value your awareness to the state of the world. i share that same awareness and hate for the state of things, hypocrisy, and lies. you are one of the most honest hearted people i have known. i can feel that. i see the lies and the grossness of this world and its rulers and religions, and i want to, and i try to, see past those lies. there is a truth behind it all. and thats my whole purpose, to see the truth and to spread it. i love you bro. the only people that will find, are the people that are looking.
