Route 29 SS for Dera~
The atmosphere surrounding Ecruteak City was filled with excitement for the New Year. People were running here and there, doing some last-minute shopping, while others chatted with one another as they walked in pairs. A certain mafia lady, however, was working on putting some discipline into her new pokemon, Kralovna the Absol. As she trained Kralovna, Adelheid's other pokemon, Sussu, Schia, Katrine, Cozart, and Cindara watched from the sidelines. Despite it being close to New Years, Adelheid wasn't planning on taking the day off from training.
They had been at it for about an hour by now and Kralovna seemed to be showing promise for the future, but of course that wasn't enough to make Adelheid go easy on her.
"Now, attack that tree," she made a gesture at Kralovna's target.
"Ab. Sol!" Kralovna used Scratch and left a mark on the tree trunk.
Adelheid went over to examine the damage. There was no nod of approval, she just set her eyes back down on Kralovna. "That's enough for now," she said.
Adelheid took a seat beneath the tree and as she did, her other pokemon made a dash for her. Cozart flapped his way over to her and seated himself on her shoulder with a loud "Krow!" The next thing he new, Adelheid's hand was around his beak, keeping it shut.
"Don't do that when you're right next to my ear." she said sternly before releasing Cozart.
He ruffled his feathers and let out another "krow," but gently this time.
Cindara trotted over to Adelheid and made herself comfortable by her master's feet before curling herself up. Katrine took a place beside Cindara and followed her example by curling himself up as well. Sussu and Schia were racing each other to see who could get to Adelheid first, making their stubby legs go as fast as they could. The two were "GenGen"-ing at each other. However, Sussu manages to slip on one of the patches of ice and his face hits the ground.
Adelheid just sighs and shakes her head. "You need to be more careful, Sussu."
Said Gengar slowly rose to his feet and sees that Schia won the race. Schia plops down next to Adelheid and hugs her arm, only to be shrugged off. There's a defeated look on Sussu's face as he slowly walks over to Adelheid and the other pokemon.
"Suzuki." comes a muffled, but familiar voice.
Adelheid quickly grabs the pokegear that's lying near Schia's feet and looks into the screen to see Squall's face.
"Yes?" her voice is calm as always.
"I see your egg has hatched." He sees Kralovna behind the tree that Adelheid is sitting against. "Congratulations."
She nods her head. "Thank you. Her name is Kralovna. According to the computer, she's an Absol and they're supposed to appear before people to warn them of impending dangers... Do you think her appearance really is an omen." Adelheid sounds like she doesn't believe this herself, but on the inside she's curious.
Squall shrugs his shoulders lightly. "I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine, Suzuki."
"I suppose that is the best thing to do," there's a bit of silence as she briefly glances back at Kralovna, "Do you plan on returning to Ecruteak soon?"
"I don't think I'll be able to make it before New Years, but I should be there after the holidays." Squall answered.
Holidays. New Years. Adelheid wasn't in the mood to celebrate the New Year, not when she was separated from Enma and the rest of her family.
"I see." she kept her emotions out of her voice. Little did she know that Sussu was beginning to inch towards her quietly.
Cozart noticed this and started flapping his wings in hopes of getting his master to look, but he was soon shrugged off of her shoulder and forced to perch on one of the tree branches above the others.
"Krow..." he looked down below and could see Sussu getting closer.
"Try to stay warm, Suzuki. The weather is still chilly." said Squall.
"Thank you for your concern, but there's no need to worry about me. I have everything under cont--" Adelheid was suddenly interrupted when Sussu grabbed the gear and was now trying to pull it out of her grasp.
"Sussu..." She was gritting her teeth.
"Gengen! Gengar!" all Sussu wanted was to see Squall's face on the gear.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the gear, Squall could only listen to the two struggle. "...Suzuki, are you alright?"
Right at that moment, Adelheid manages to push Sussu away, making him fall flat on his back. She gives him a quick glare before looking back into the screen with a calm appearance. She was seething on the inside.
"Yes. One of my Gengars got out of hand, but I have control of the situation now." she says in an equally calm voice, though one might hear the tiniest hint of irritation.
"...You take care of yourself, Suzuki." with that, Squall cuts off the feed.
Adelheid lowers the gear and rises to her feet. She glared down at Sussu, who is still on the ground, as though wanting to burn a hole through the ground beneath him.
"G-Gen?" Sussu looked up at her.
"It's time for your training now, Sussu..." She wasn't going to let him have a break.
