My heart goes out to the goverment in Kingston and the police and security forces in Newcastle camp, as they are trying desperatly to fight crime and drug crime on their island and in the region.
Two years ago a network of Kingstons shanty town gangters aremed themselves to the teeth and the capital nearly was turned into anarchy. A lot can be said for what is termed third world nations, but since independance Jamaica has done very well in keeping a democratic system going.
Perhaps their remaining loyalty to the British Commonwealth has alot to do with it! When we compare governments in the country, it was Siago the Nationalist PM who allowed guns into the country as he drew into a closer relationship with the U.S.A.
