Eritrea and Ethiopia.

The Long War.

This was one of the longest wars to have taken place in Africa, first for Independence  and then over the border. Since 1973 Ethiopia has fought wars with its neighbors continually. First with Somalia and Russia backed both sides at different times. Today Ethiopia is now a land locked country loosing its valuable Red Sea ports access.

Somalia has neither fared any better with Islamic civil wars and constant changes of governments. But Eritrea has had many advantages since it broke away from Ethiopia, but does not seem to have taken advantage of them. The threat of further border disputes is likely to continue for the future and it will be the poor ordinary people who have to suffer on all sides to keep the faces of corrupt politicians?
