Me v. My Body …

I'm rather upset with my current situation. I'm at work after having stayed up all day. I wasn't able to fall asleep to get a nap so I'm incredibly tired. I've already drank a standard household pot of coffee. I have an sinus headache which is odd (this would be the second time I've ever had a sinus headache.) My colon's not happy about all the dairy that I had today (and I'm assuming the falafal didn't help much either.)

I get off work at eight at which point I'm gonna go home and perhaps get an hour nap. (I don't know if I should even risk falling asleep because …) I need to be an hour's drive away by eleven for a funeral and perhaps spend time at the reception if I haven't already passed out at that point. I'm thinking the earliest that I'll be allowed to get some decent sleep would be around five in the afternoon. I think that it would be best to bring a change of clothes with me so that I can spend the night at my parent's house rather than risking running off the road driving home.

So, like I said I'm a little upset. But I was able to concentrate long enough to get started on this little drawing that I sketched this morning/afternoon (you know, when I couldn't sleep.) I'm sure that I'll be bored once more at work on Tuesday night so I should be able to finish it.

And here's the original sketch for those of you who may be curious. Not much to write home about. He looks a bit soulless without any pupils or irises but I usually don't sketch that; I add it later when I'm inking and coloring. At least that seems to be my current method. Who knows what processes I'll choose in the future.

If you have no idea what this is about you don't really need to worry; it's not of great importance. Just a bit of fan art really. Inspired by those Tom Baker episodes that I mentioned I started downloading about a month ago. Right now it's clocking in at about 80% of the total 60GB. I watched the episodes Robot and The Sontaran Experiment. I hope that in a couple weeks from now I'll be able to sit down and spend the entire day watching all of the Tom Baker episodes. I have no idea how long that would take but I think that I'm up to the task. At least after I've had a nap.

P.S. I should probably mention that the funeral that I'm attending is for my grandfather. About a year ago he was diagnosed with lung cancer. About a month ago the doctors estimated that he had a month left. He passed away last Thursday morning. I believe he was 86. I hope to get some of the old family photos scanned while I'm visiting my family. If I do I'll post a couple. There intriguing testaments to early 20th century American midwest farm-life. My dad's favorite photo was the image of my grandpa as a little boy riding a pig down the fence line.
