Ten Years Gone...

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the first Marlins World Series championship.



Hard to believe that was over 3650 days ago. I was 14. It was the first time I ever saw my grandfather or my father cry. It was probably the closest I'd ever been to either of them, before or since.

I was at all 4 home games, and consider it to be the pinnacle of my childhood. Too bad the end of my childhood came just a month later, when Moises Alou was traded to the Astros to begin what I've dubbed The Great Gutting of '97.

Still, for a moment, everything was as it should be in the cosmos, and that's the memory I'd rather keep.
