I decided to post two of the many photos I took for my Photo Media class this semester. I only have these two because we shot slide film rather then polaroids or digital, and slide film is very expensive to scan and print! My teacher scanned these two for me. They're supposed to be works of art, but keep in mind that I've only started shooting semi-professionally this year, so my work is far from being perfect.

This shot is from my human subject study series. Getting this particular series, "Outsiders", done was extremely exciting, because I had to walk up to total strangers in the street and ask them if I could take a picture of them! My friend pointed out that it's a very romantic way to get a date XD
I wondered the streets of Melbourne, looking for people who looked lonely/strange/out of place/etc. This guy was sitting in front of the NGV building, looking rather worried. He was waiting for someone. I walked up to him and told him what I wanted to do. He was very agreeable, and I got about 5 shots of him.
If you live in Melbourne, you most likely know this place. I had to come there over and over again during different times of day for two weeks, trying to find the best lighting. This one I'm very happy with (so was my teacher). I think the highlights and contrasts of dark and light are really good, and the angle is perfect. This shot was taken without a tripod (I was lying on the groung, holding the camera up).
