Who: Rufus and Scarlet

What: Rufus meets with Scarlet to go over the events that transgressed during her meeting with Reeve and the status of the company's weapons contract with the WRO.

( he had a feeling that her account would be... colorful to say the least. )

Scarlet had spent the previous night in the lab, operating on caffeine and adrenaline, taking only a brief rest in the morning. In spite of it, she felt fantastic, and looked it. The initial solar cell prototype appeared to be working--its preliminary tests, anyway--and between that and her meeting with Reeve, she had plenty of good news for Rufus. She took a few minutes to redo her makeup before heading for Rufus' office, notebook under one arm and her tape recorder in her bag.

The secretary waved her through, and Scarlet pushed the door open, taking a moment to appraise Rufus, a slow smile spreading across her face. "Good morning," she said, leaning leisurely against the door frame. It was about time she'd been able to meet with him. Like old times. Sort of.

She waited to be formally invited in, calm on the exterior, inwardly planning how she would present her information. She couldn't wait.

Rufus glanced momentarily at his desk clock, more out of mere habit than anything else. Scarlet was exactly on time, but he wasn't surprised. For as much as talk traveled Shinra well before he himself had been president, she was always professional when it came to business.

"You may have a seat."

He figured he might as well feign cordiality. While others would view the statement as an order, Scarlet would inevitably do what she pleased. It was almost feline... like the smile spreading across her face. The cat that got the canary.

He pushed some stray paperwork aside, and folded his hands on the mahogany surface of his desk. "I trust you have some favorable news for me, Scarlet."

Tipping the notebook forward to get a better look, Rufus could feel the corners of his lips pulling up in a relieved smile. While it wasn't necessarily his forte -- he knew enough to understand the basics of what Scarlet was working on, he knew this was the real deal and he knew what that meant. "Now this... This is what we pay you for. When will the results from these current tests be ready ( ... )
