The cold and heavy breath of Edge sighed across the streets. The moon was shrouded, as were the stars, and yet the white mist illuminated the world around Nanaki with haunting neon eyes. The familiar feeling Edge echoed about him, the feeling of the city watching him, stalking him in the mist behind him. The mist muffled some sounds, amplified others. There were footsteps and howls disturbingly close. Maybe the shades of the dead all walked this place now, just like her ( ... )

The light of the other's tail was the first thing that Vincent took notice of before Nanaki's full form materialized before him. Though he didn't express relief in his voice, his body too relaxed minutely at the presence of the beast. It was better to be in company on such nights, where he felt as if he was being watched by unkind eyes.

"It has," he uttered softly, gazing down at Nanaki, halting in his walk once they had approached one another. It was good to see a familiar face, one that had failed to become unrecognizable since he had last seen him.

"A cold night."

"Mmmm...this fog dampens the senses. It is a pity that we should cross paths this night of nights, but then maybe not." Nanaki moved to Vincent's side intending to walk along side Vincent towards his destination. He cast his eye down the nearby alleys, and watched the windows, images of blue eyes still in his mind.

"You have just arrived here?" Nanaki thought to keep things somewhat casual. His mind kept on skirting around the real issue, but he knew this facade of normalcy would not work much with Vincent, being a man of few words, and those he uttered carried much, not unlike himself in a way.

Vincent hummed the affirmative. Well, it was more accurate to say he had returned, but it was still the same in that he had just come back. Either way, it made little difference, and he resumed his walk once Nanaki had come to his side. He glanced down at the beast - it seemed the other had something else to say, but he wouldn't press it if Nanaki didn't speak up. He knew the creature would, if it was important.

"Reeve told me you had come to Edge. Are you staying somewhere?" There was some concern of safety for Nanaki, if he had chosen to stay out in the open or perhaps stay with Tifa and the ... ressurected, at the bar.

Walking had become her eternal enemy and the ache in her legs constantly reminded her of it. Yuffie was usually a fit young woman, in healthy condition and able to hike all through Da Chao and back home, but this... This was just torture. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad had Yuffie chosen a buggy for her travels, or maybe even attempted to call Cid for a lift but even the mere idea of the airship made her stomache lurch and knot. "Ugh..." The small ninja groaned in partial relief as she recognized her surroundings as Edge, though barely through the thick fog. What was with the weather anyway ( ... )

"I have been...restless of late, and so I have been on the move ever since I saw...well, I assume you have been to Seventh Heaven. I now have more things on my mind than I wanted, but it is the will of Gaia." Nanaki closed his eye and continued walking. Thoughts raced through his head, but they faded, just like the shadows and sounds in the mist.

Before he heard the sounds off to the side as he and Vincent began to cross an empty main road he caught the whiff of familiarity. Even through the mist it could reach him, the smell of Wutai incense and the distinct signature of smells that helped him in identifying her. His could have almost groaned. He knew she was a formidable fighter, worthy of as much respect as any other member of AVALANCHE, but that did not make her any less of a disturbance to his thoughts. "It looks as though we shall be having some more company, Vincent."

It seemed Vincent (and Reeve, for that matter) wasn't alone in the feeling of restlessness - though he wasn't sure of Nanaki's own cause, at least it had led him here. Vincent nodded at the assumption - Aerith and Zack... He wondered if Nanaki had heard about the dragon WEAPON as well. He didn't have time to inquire, however, as the all too familiar voice caused him to jerk his head upwards, gazing over at the tumbling trashcan and the girl (young woman, now?) hitting the ground.

His eyebrow quirked, disappearing under his bandana. "Appears so," he murmured, padding over to the fallen ninja and gazing down at her quietly from behind the high collar of his cloak, knuckles of his human hand resting against Cerberus's holster. "Yuffie." He didn't say much more besides her name, but it served to say what are you doing?

A hiss of pain mixed with embarrassment passed between her teeth as Yuffie sat up, rubbing sorely at the small of her back. Stormy hues glanced over to her mass of an opponent to realize it was only Nanaki and Vincent, the approach of the latter making her feel even sillier in her position. "Yeah, I'm fine. Great in fact. No bruises, thanks for asking." The sarcasm fell from her tone soon after as she hopped back to her feet, resilient as ever.

"Still as wordy as ever, Vincent..." Yuffie planted her hands firmly against her hips and shot a grin over to Nanaki. "Hey Red! Miss me? Wait, were you always here in Edge? Or maybe I've just been gone for that long," she mused, more to herself than to either of the men (male's?) before her.

"Oh, which reminds me." She really wasted no time between subjects. "What'd I miss?"

"I have only recently arrived here in Edge, and it seems that everyone else is here too, minus the Captain." Nanaki looked at Vincent shortly. He wondered wether she knew about Aerith.

"Many things seem to be happening here, although I am unsure as to their meaning." This was more directed at Vincent, Nanaki assuming that Vincent's ties with the WRO would aid him in explaining the situation with some clarity. Then again, Yuffie was also the head of information retreival, and while something of a pain to converse with, would have a greater detail of information.

Vincent paused briefly, searching for words before gesturing for the both of them to follow him and continue his walk. The sooner they got somewhere warm, the less time they would have to spend in the damp, cold air.

"There was a split between WRO and Shin-Ra," though he assumed Yuffie had heard of this, unless she hadn't gotten hold of the news in Wutai, "murders in Junon, a small dragon in Edge, and," another pause, before he ended tonelessly: "Aerith and the SOLDIER Zack Fair have been revived."

Only three days had passed since his initial arrival in Edge, yet so much had occured. Disruption was never smooth, however. He folded his arms across his chest, frowning to himself.

"Everyone, huh? Wow, I've been missing Tifa's food you know! Making your own food is really overrated." As if that were the important point to be made. Her lighthearted comment seemed to take a downward fall, though, as the air turned more serious. Her attention returned to Vincent and she quickly fell into step with the two, hands clasped behind her back from lack of anything else to do with them.

A wider grin split across her face and Yuffie nodded thoughtfully. "Never liked Shin-Ra anyway, rotten and dirty as they were," needless to say she still held a grudge. Her mouth opened for more of her wondrous input until she heard 'Aerith'.

The change in her expression was immediate, a frown set upon her lips and her gaze locked straight ahead. "That's not funny, Monster Man. You don't make jokes like that." So maybe she hadn't gotten a full report of everything in Wutai. Might have made sense that people wanted to tell her in person, but a warning would have been nice. Or maybe this was the warning.

"Things are complicated, young one. The manifestation that is Aerith now resides in Seventh Heaven, but..." Nanaki paused. Aerith had seemed to weak when he had seen her. Revival was, of course a taxing process, but he never knew how much punishment Aerith had received, not only to her body, but to her soul by ripping it from the womb of Gaia.

"There is something on the wind. I have sensed things. It is all very unsettling." Nanaki could do nothing but continue walking.

Vincent's eyes narrowed at Yuffie for the 'Monster Man' comment - appreciating neither the nickname nor the comment. No, he didn't make jokes like that. It would be cruel. The thoughts were brushed away in favor of listening to Nanaki's words and nodding once in agreement.

"You can see Aerith for yourself, Yuffie, but there may be bigger things to worry about soon." The force behind the ressurections - all of the what ifs and suspense and the agitation at the lack of knowing rolled in like the fog. He hoped there would be some clarity soon - either by discovering it himself or being told.

Suddenly Yuffie wasn't entirely sure what to think. Normally she had another comment right up her sleeve to keep the two talking, but she was given a rather mute card here. Instead she chose to ignore the look received from Vincent and leaned over to look toward Nanaki. "I'm not young anymore, remember? Besides, you're about the same age I am," she pointed out offhandedly before straightening her posture again.

"But.. I do want to see her," her voice had softened considerably and Yuffie stared down at her boots in the brief silence that followed. It pained her to remember that day so long ago, a day she had cried until she could only resort to dry heaves.

Shaking her head, Yuffie picked up her pace and skipped ahead of the two to swivel about on her heel and face them in her backward 'stroll' with them. "That it? This is the part that I come in and get all the juicy information and stuff!"

"If memory serves, you were not over fifty years, Yuffie." Nanaki grinned a little in ridicule of himself. In human equivalent's he was physically younger than the ninja, close to sixteen or seventeen.

Watching the young woman skip, inwardly groaning at her general air of immaturity, Nanaki half-turned to Vincent, believing the alleged 'Monster-Man' to have not yet had access to the information he knew.
"One thing I do know is that last night I met with Reeve. He informed me of numerous things, but most interesting was the event that unfolded that night. We ran into a woman with silver hair, I believe Reeve knew her as an "Aurelius". She was being assaulted by a crazed woman with burning red eyes. The woman had already murdered another human, and was in the process of assaulting another. The red-eyed woman broke her own back in her frenzy."

Nanaki cast a scrutinising eye from Vincent to Yuffie, suspecting they had knowledge that Reeve failed to divulge. "I do not suppose you know what could explain such an event?"

Vincent reminded quiet throughout the recap of the events, looking intently at the other until he had finished. His features darkened, chin tucking further into the folds of his cloak. It sounded like blitz. It was never easy to brush the problems with the drug aside - he still felt the aftereffects of his own drugged dring, though it hadn't been M-PIV by some grace of Gaia - and it disturbed him to have it rear so close to his comrades.

"Drugs," he murmured. Though it was a direct assumption on his part, it was probably the best (and unfortunately, the most common) explanation for the outbursts of raging violence.
