Aerith had returned to doing nothing of great importance, flipping through recent magazines--though anything in the past few years seemed new to her. She had never paid much attention to fashion or politics, but a good portion of the world did, and it was interesting to see the developments. It all seemed a little pointless after witnessing events that risked the very planet itself, but...

Her head shot up at the sound of knocking. It came from the window.

"Hello?" she called, rising to her feet and taking a few hesitant steps towards the sound. It wasn't her mind playing tricks on her--it was knocking. Someone was there.

It was a long morning, and it had Barret dragging his feet back to Seventh Heaven. It took him longer than he'd wished to secure travel and lodgings to Kalm when Thursday arrived, but it was something he couldn't put off. The money he had, but his irritation almost peaked when the man he'd spoken to for a temporary rental truck was way above the norm. One would think having helped save the world it wouldn't be such an issue to get a decent price for a vehicle no where near luxurious, but the current view of WRO and Avalanche was less than kosher. After some threats, however, the man conceded so low it might as well have been free of charge. The perks to being intimidating were nearly endless, but Wallace avoided abusing it ( ... )

The moment the window opened Nanaki jumped into the room from the cold alley. He landed quietly, so as not to arouse too much attention from those customers in the room beyond ( ... )
