i wouldn't recommend starting from the beginning though, because it gets so good midway through the season. some episodes you should start with:

MODERN WARFARE
contemporary american poultry
physical education
beginner pottery
interpretive dance

those are some of my favorites from last season :)

Oh, you so seriously need to watch this! It's my favorite comedy right now. I even love it more than TBBT or HIMYM. I watched my first episode on the flight back from Texas because there was nothing else on but immediately went to download the whole show as soon as I could. I had the chance to watch it during summer hiatus. Right now is a bad time for new shows. But good luck. And hey, it's only around 24 minutes. ;)

The reason I didn't watch it sooner is because I don't like TBBT or HIMYM or The Office...all shows that people gush about and love. I thought Community would be the same. Well....lol it's on my to-watch list now!

Oh, no. Community is a lot meaner and over-the-top hilarious. Also, it would be worth watching just for Abed and his commentary alone.
