Three SS/HG-related drabbles

Feb 22, 2014 22:56

Shog's partially responsible for the following three drabbles: I wrote the first one while he was explaining something technical to me; I wrote the second one after he suggested that any son of Severus' might not necessarily have the same ill luck with witches that his father had as a lad; and I wrote the third one after we agreed that it's not the poem but the mode of its delivery that gets the girl. ;)

A Once Rought Heart (G; implied Severus/Hermione; 100 words)

The scents of black tea, buttered toast, and roast beef awoke Severus, who turned his head to find a palm-sized, smoking dark chocolate cauldron sitting on his bedside table. Written across its side in glossy red frosting was one word: "Blow." Severus blew, and the cauldron melted away to reveal a pearlescent moonstone in the shape of a rough heart, and one that had not been achieved through means either Muggle or magical. The heart was natural, and that Hermione had obviously taken great pains to find it for him warmed Severus more than a good meal ever had done.

From the Poetry & Conquest Journal of Samuel Granger-Snape, Page Three (PG; implied OMC/OFC; 100 words)

Sleep is a demon - nay, a thief! - who feeds upon time as you exhale it of a dream.

O, sweet dream of mine that thou art, your sacred breath from Demon Sleep I would keep while in your desire, steep -

for Sleep is a demon, a pernicious thief! who feeds 'pon your life as you lay without me.

Waste not that gift of love you possess when there is one in whose embrace you might lustily rest.

Together, entwined, we shall achieve the divine and leave yon unfed demon to weep.

Note: Worked a treat on the luscious Lydia Lovegood.

Author's Note: All errors are Sam's-not that he'd agree that there were any errors if tasked with them. :P

Doggerel's Efficacy (PG-13; Severus/Hermione; 100 words)

"Prying, are we?"

"Speak to your son," Hermione said, handing him Sam's journal. "This is horrible!"

Severus snorted. "We've already had the Talk."

"Have another one. Seven pages? Seven girls?"

"I believe that this," Severus replied, placing the book aside, "is a work of fiction."

Hermione smirked. "Keep telling yourself that. A boy can get rather far with doggerel."

"Is that so?" Severus pulled Hermione to her feet. "Roses are red-"

"Oh, honestly!"

Severus closed the distance between them. "Violets are blue."

Hermione rolled her eyes; Severus rolled his hips into hers.

"I've got a stiffy, and. It's. For. You."

P.S. If you're a member-watcher of the
