Oh, gosh, this is just so sad! Poor Eileen. I wish we knew more about her from canon, but this fills in the blanks very well and in such a bleak way. ~applause~

Oh, wow, this is so powerful. I can imagine this--a mother trying desperately to make it right. If I could go back and change the awful moments my own kids went through, I'd do it in a heartbeat. How much more must Eileen feel that way.
