The purpose of the Harry Potter Random Facts Fest is to encourage people to write 20 Random Facts Meme entries so that others may use those random facts as prompts for their own fan works. The fest runs from today through October; the master list will be posted on 1 November. The fest is open to anyone who journals at an LJ-based service. There is no limit to how many entries participants may submit during the fest, more than one writer may write about the same character, pairing, threesome, moresome, or not-so-inanimate object, and sign-ups are not required for participation.

You are welcome to post your Round Six meme entries and fan works to
hp_random_facts, but doing so is not required in order to participate in the fest (in fact, you may post your entries to any LJ-based journaling service and link to them in reply to this post in order to participate). Please see the community's profile for specific header information and tagging guidelines should you elect to post your work there.

- Write a 20 Random Facts meme entry about the Potterverse character, pairing, threesome, moresome, or not-so-inanimate object of your choice.
- Publicly post your meme entry to your journal with a standard header and under a cut tag.
- Rate your meme entry G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17.
- Link to the HP Random Facts Fest in your header.
- Reply to this post with the title of and link to your meme entry so that I can add it to the submissions list (or submit your entry via email to hp.random.facts [at] gmail [dot] com; please remember to provide me with your user name and the name of the site at which you journal if you do so).
- Read and review the meme entries as I add them to the submissions list below. If you take inspiration for fic (of 500 words or more) or art (of any form) from the random facts, create a fan work.
- Publicly post your fan work to your journal with a standard header and under a cut tag.
- Rate your fan work G, PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17.
- Link to the HP Random Facts Fest in your header.
- In your header, also include the user name of the meme entry author from whom you took inspiration, link to his or her meme entry, and note which random fact(s) inspired your fan work.
