Ten Prompts in Search of Their Authors (E.T.A.)

Jan 14, 2007 22:59

Part of my writing process, when I can't get any writing done, is to write random prompts. Here are ten, which you should feel free to take. If you do take one, please post your result (or, if it's long, a link to it) in comments. (I'll update this post to reflect your offering.)

Please find the prompts and links to the responses to them under the cut. )

Rotten Ron, sequel to Freckled Shenanigans qzee January 16 2007, 05:56:50 UTC
It was one of the twin's pranks that led Harry and Hermione to learning the truth about Ron. Learning that he had been playing both of them, lying to both of them, and for a moment they had teetered on the brink of hexing each other out of anger and jealousy. But that moment gave them time to remember all the times they had been there for each other. That moment gave them time to remember their friendship. That moment had been enough to help them realize it was Ron to blame for the betrayal and not each other. The Hexing of Rotten Ron became legendary overnight, with rumours that he was left permanently cursed with warts and green hair. It was this hexing that indeed led to all that happened next.

Like Gred and Forge realizing how devious, brilliant and creative Hermione could be. Which had led to them offering her advice in an ongoing campain against Rotten Ron. Then her counteroffer of assisting them with the development of products that would appeal to witches, hags, and other assorted feminine creatures. Ending up in her becoming an equal partner in Weasley Wizarding Wheezes, having become a Weasley through marrying Forge and Gred.

There was also a rumour that the Hexing of Rotten Ron led to Harry appealing to be resourted. Thus landing him in Slytherin, where people began to accept him for who he was instead of The Boy Who Lived. It is said it led to a lifelong friendship between Harry and Draco, to the end of the rivalry between the Gryfindoor and Slytherin houses and to the redemption of Slytherin's name. There were even hushed whispers that it led to the eventual bonding of Potions Master Severus Snape to Hogwarts Quidditch Coach Harry Potter. But those rumours were largely ignored as it was taken as given that the two wizards would eventually end up together.

As for Rotten Ron, he still found a way to feel smug, but this time for taking credit for all the good things that happened as a result of Harry and Hermione learning about his two-timing. Which led to his affair with two hags by the names of Ernestine and Esmeralda. Which led to more smugness. Which led to nagging from both hags for his two-timing ways. Which led to him swearing his devotion to both hags and conning them into accepting the situation. Which led to Ron feeling smug.

Oh my god! I've so much love for you for writing this. *laughs* How you came up with a happily ever after for the trio as well as ending the rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin houses . . . all this from Ron's two timing his two best friends. :D

Yes, I'd say he's earned the right to be smug after pulling this off. All my wishes came true. With so much hilariousness! Thank you. (My face hurts from smiling.)
