mmm, last night was spectacular! :)
we went to kirby park in wilkes barre to see the fireworks. there were so many people there it was insane. and the fireworks were awesome. i definitely want a display at my wedding. which will take place at walt disney world. maybe. my father saw the tape i ordered and he goes 'what are you, nuts? NO!' hahaha. that's what you think daddy. :) we had a nice young couple with a wee child fighting in front of us. i'm so nosy. she hit him, told him to get out of her life, and when he went to pick up the baby she told him to 'don't even think about it, you're done.' quite entertaining.
and now...the fun part starts. we went to walmart, where a few 'tan' men decided that they liked me. i have 'a real nice smile' and they stood there yelling 'hey girl' for about five minutes, ha. anywho, the point of going to walmart was to get flashlights. oh yeah, i ran into bill while i was there, too. i saw him walking towards me and i tried to turn around and go down a different aisle but by that time he had seen me. he dyed his hair black. it looks good. i still find him rather adorable, but other than that, nothing.
we got our flashlights, went to west side to pick up fred, and then headed off to the west mountain sanitarium. it's on west mountain in scranton and used to be a place where tuberculosis patients were housed in the 20's-50's. the place caught on fire in the 1950's and, well, burned down. it's on the official list of haunted places in pennsylvania. and it was one of the most amazing experiences i've ever had. i was so excited, the adrenaline was pumping insanely, and i could've stayed there for hours and hours but certain people got scared...*ahem*...:) we only went into the one part of it, the infirmary. there were beds everywhere and all the way in the back on the left side there were tons and tons of papers, bills, patient records, shopping invoices, etc...the earliest we found was for 1943 and the latest was for 1956. i went off exploring by myself for a few minutes. it was crazy. found the cover of a composition notebook that said 'dunmore, pa, 18509' on it...definitely odd. fred said he'd take me back to go into the other buildings on the property [administration office and whatnot] and my MOTHER said she wanted to go when i told her about it. haha. i did some research online about it earlier becaue i'm a dork like that and dick smith wrote the christmas song 'winter wonderland' while he was a patient there. interesting... i found some pictures of it online.

went to see my grandparents earlier. my grandfather gave me another $100. i told him to keep it but he yelled and told me to take it, lol. he just gave me $100 on saturday. weighed myself while i was there, too. expecting the worst. turns out i lost 8 pounds in the past two weeks. word. and i spent like 20 minutes talking to ryan [o'malley]. oh how i long for the days of childhood when he and i would hang out for like 6 hours a day.
