Certain as the sun rising in the east

It is done.

After dropping 400+ ectos on clovers, 2 million karma, and hundreds of hours farming T6 mats/lodestones, I finally saw the sun rise. I've never obtained a relic-level weapon or armor in an MMO, but there had to be a first. And hot damn, it feels awesome. For some 8 months, I've dedicated nearly every minute of my playing time on Sunrise. And I'm finally done.

This will most definitely go down as one of the more memorable moments in my gaming(?) career. As with anyone chasing after a legendary or relic, there were many moments where I wanted to give up. End seemed so far away and luck was ALWAYS against my side. I've read so many stories of how people only had to spend 100 ectos to get their 77 clovers. I had to dump 400+ and I'm probably low balling that number. There was also a time where 100+ ectos yielded 0 clovers. I raged quit for about a month. Conveniently enough, that's when FFXIV ARR beta came around and I turned my eyes away from GW2.

XIV was fun (in a relaxing way). I would still be playing it if I didn't inadvertently log onto GW2 a month ago. After running Ifrit HM 50+ times to get my blade, I had to take a break. Unfortunately, at level cap, if you're not running dungeons for philos or mythos, there's not much else to do. What can I say? It's a new game and I wouldn't expect any newly released games to have plethora of stuff to do. But I wasn't going to go on another endless run of those right after I've exhausted myself with Ifrit. I turned towards leveling WHM, but shit got old real fast. I got to lv34 by purely spamming fates and that was no different than running Ifrit 50 times. I had to log off.

Few days later, I felt inclined to log onto GW2. I wanted to steam off in WvW. Sanctum of Rall has a solid WvW base and community - and they actually play well. I was going to join in on one of the zergs and melt some faces. Well, that was the plan. But that didn't happen. I didn't even do any WvW because I was busy exploring all of the new stuff that they've added. I would be lying if I said I wasn't dumbfounded. The game doesn't have any gear treadmill, so how much new stuff or content can they possibly produce? Welp, apparently enough to make me log on the next day. And the day after that. And another day after that. You get the drift. So much new stuff. And every one of them worth checking out. Time to have fun again.

In closing, this is my gaming journal. As long as I'm playing something, I'll be updating :) May not be as often and I don't know how long this will last (probably until I get married - will I ever?), but until that day, I'll be keeping this posted!
